Fresh Take on Flannel

It’s a given that flannels are a staple in fall and winter fashion, but, in the past, I’ve noticed only a couple ways we style them. Don’t get me wrong. I love an open flannel over a tee, but I think there’s room to experiment.

This particular flannel was from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and is adorable! When I first tried it on it was so huge to the point where I didn’t know whether to return it or not. Then, I got the idea to tie it up and BOOM, it started to work for me. It’s still a bit baggy around the shoulder and arms, but helps make it look casual and effortless. To keep the look balanced, I paired it with a black bodysuit underneath plus some ripped skinnies and my FAVE booties.

Every time I wear this outfit, which is more than I care to admit (I’m obsessed), I get a bunch of compliments and then questions on where I got the flannel. Unfortunately, this Free People one has been sold out for awhile, but I’m linking some similar ones. You can do the same thing with any oversized flannel!

You don’t always need new to have fresh style. I hope this encourages you to think of different ways to experiment with your own personal style. There’s no one like you!
