Glossier Brand Review

I recently did a poll on Instagram, asking the question if anyone had tried Glossier and the majority of you said “no” you hadn’t tried anything from the brand. Well I’m here to tell ya, Susan. You are missing out!! If you’re a natural girl, enjoy a good skincare product, or like a bushy brow – Glossier is a must try! Breaking down my favorite products, and why below. All links are included in the product carousel! BUT, first let’s talk about what makes Glossier, Glossier.

Glossier is one of the first true millennial brands. They’re Instagram is a carefully curated collection of unique product shots, fab models, and gorgeous backdrops. Brand mission is all about enhancing your natural beauty, with minimal makeup and heavy lifting skin care. At first I was intimidated, like there’s no way I can look like that with just minimal makeup, but I had heard so many good things, I thought I’d just start with a couple products to see how it goes. Well, it went very well. Obviously!

I started to building my collection from there. I have a mix of Glossier and Glossier Play products. Play is their new, more colorful line, designed for night’s out! I’ve been using all my Glossier/Glossier Play products for the past 4 months and here are my product specific thoughts. Broken down into the two categories skincare and makeup!

skincare

  • Moisturizing Moon Mask – a moisturizing face mask that gives you glass skin. It quenches my dry skin around the perimeter of my face and doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. One of my favorite masks I’ve ever tried. Ever. Leave on for 20-30 minutes after cleansing and then remove with cold water. It’s great for multi-masking paired with my next pick.
  • Mega Greens Galaxy Pack – a detoxing face mask that is an oily girl or guys dream. It will help clear your breakouts, without completely stripping your skin. I use this to keep my hormonal acne at bay. Leave on for 20-30 minutes on areas that need a detox. Multi-mask with the Moon Mask for a full refresh!
  • Priming Moisturizer – a primer that double downs on hydration. The non-greasy formula is the perfect prep for makeup. There are moisturizing and exfoliating ingredients that don’t irritate my skin, which is super rare. Highly recommend this as a simple hydrating primer for the girl next door.
  • Balm Dotcom – rich lip balms that come in a ton of flavors and shades. I have two of them: mango and coconut. Both smell and taste delicious. They’re not the most moisturizing, but worth it for the adorable packaging and unique flavors.

makeup

  • Stretch Concealer – a light to medium, dewy concealer. This is one of my favorite brand picks, because of it’s natural coverage and easy blendability. I use the shade G10 on my under eyes and over blemishes for a smooth complexion. It’s hydrating formula counteracts the drying acne medication on my spots and keeps under eye bags at bay. This is not for anyone who likes a full beat face. This is natural, beautiful coverage. Highly recommend you set with powder if you crease easily, or are in a warmer climate!
  • Cloud Paint – a range of cream blushes designed to fit any skin tone. It’s another one of my stand out products from the brand. I own four shades to match any eye shadow, lip color, or outfit. They’re just pigmented enough to show up when blended, but not super overpowering. My favorite shades are Beam, Puff, Dawn, and Storm.
  • Lip Gloss – a juicy clear lip gloss. Extremely shiny and lasts on the lips. ‘Nough said!
  • Boy Brow – a colored brow gel that took Instagram by storm. Their most viral product got to holy grail status in my collection pretty quickly! It makes sparse brows look full and bushy. I find I don’t need a brow pencil with this bad boy. Especially on more natural days. Can’t live without this product! I wear the shade brown.
  • Colorslide – a colored eye pencil that comes in a variety of really special shades. My favorite is Early Girl, that makes blue and green eyes pop. I exclusively use these in my waterline. Formula is okay, but the shades are the best part of this product.
  • Vinylic Lip – a sheer semi-shiny lipstick. A perfect combination of pigment and shine, this is one of my favorite lip colors. You can get a blotted lip look or build it up to pack more of a punch. I own Blow-Up, a cool toned medium pink, and Casino, a rich terracotta.
  • Niteshine – a beaming liquid highlighter from Glossier’s new line Glossier Play. This highlighter gives you more of a dew then a sparkle, so I highly recommend picking it up if you are into that sort of thing. It has a small little doe foot applicator that makes application a breeze. Pale Pearl is the shade I picked up, but I’d love to get Platinum Rose next.
  • Haloscope – a subtle highlighter stick that gives a natural glow. Their Haloscopes are a definitely not as pigmented as the Niteshine, but I still love them. They’re natural and perfect for no-makeup makeup looks. They’re also oddly moisturizing, because of the balm core surrounded by the stick highlighter. I got the deepest shade, Topaz to give me a golden glow. Makes me look like I just got back from vacation.

Happy shopping! Tag me if you try any of these products. I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂
