5 CHI Summer Activities

Let’s celebrate the first perfect summer weekend with a look into my favorite season in my favorite city! Chicago in the summer is THE BEST you guys. If you don’t believe me come see for yourself. Not too humid, not too hot, and the beaches are a dream.

Here’s a list of my top 5 Favorite Summer Chicago Activities. Come visit!!

  1. Rooftop Happy Hour – My current obsession in Lincoln Park is The J. Parker on the rooftop of Hotel Lincoln. It has a GORGEOUS view of the lake and the park. Their drinks are all island themed this summer, which is so fun! Also, I highly recommend Bernie’s, LondonHouse, and Raised if you’re looking for a spot downtown.
  2. Cub’s Games at Wrigley Field – Whether you’re in the bleachers or behind home plate being inside the Friendly Confines is an experience. You just feel the history. If you do one thing, promise you’ll go to a Cubs game! Unless you’re a Cards fan. Here’s a link where you can buy bleacher tickets! http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ticketing/bleachers.jsp
  3. River Boat Floating – Last summer, me and my girl friends rented a pontoon boat to float the river and sip cocktails. It was so fun!! So much fun in fact, that we’re doing it again this year. If you’re traveling with a small group, I recommend you book the Chicago’s First Lady Architectural Boat Tour. It’s all smooth sailing from here 🙂 Link to book here: https://www.cruisechicago.com/
  4. Patio Brunch – More like a patio breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I love a good patio and the Chi weather is the perfect scenario for it. Just walking down the streets of downtown you can find brunch spots left and right. My favorite for awhile now has been Beatrix. They serve multiple flavors of mimosa and have a great balance of sweet and savory options. Because sometimes I’m in a lunch mood and sometimes I’m in a breakfast mood, ya know? 5. Lake Beach Day – The great thing about Chicago summers, is that it doesn’t get too high above 80 degrees, which is the PERFECT laying out weather. I’ll bring some snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and a big towel and just perch. North Avenue Beach and Oak Street beaches are my favorite.
