Style Etc.

Wow, okay. This is happening!

Welcome to ETC Style Blog, everyone! Let’s keep this intro short and sweet, shall we?

Our story starts with a girl from Kansas City, who makes the big move to Chicago immediately after college graduation. She finds a great job and best friendships, but fast forward one year later and she’s feeling both homesick and restless.

At this point, I had lost a little bit of myself in the hustle of everyday life. That’s about the time I learned to open up more to opportunity and inspiration struck.

Being a firm believer in retail therapy and an outside-in philosophy, style and beauty are two things that I’ve always been passionate about. Everything from fall layering to a strong brow game makes me warm and fuzzy inside. All this being said, I hadn’t made the connection to actively share my own aesthetic until a few months back when scrolling through Instagram on my Metra commute. Then it hit me. If all these people can do it, why not me? All I needed was that one reason to pursue it.

I plan to use this platform as a way to share my style evolution, beauty tips, general city lifestyle, etc. with each of you. The goal being to inspire and be inspired by the community!

Three months ago, I started developing the idea that grew into what you’re reading now. After several photoshoots, countless brainstorms, stressful editing sessions, and way too many Starbucks runs we are finally here!

A HUGE thank you to the following people, without which I would have not been able to do this: Morgan Raphael, Sarah Cousineau (hi Mom!), Dylan Rupert, Paige Babilla, Cait Miller, and Marilyn Ruklick. I am so grateful for you all!

I’m so happy with the outcome and hope you truly enjoy the content! Thanks for reading!

Over the years, I’ve definitely developed a solid personal aesthetic which I would define as approachable street style. For my first outfit cameo, I’m sharing my go-to fall look. Perfect for window shopping on Michigan Avenue, a dinner out, or even a casual work day. Never underestimate what a good pair of jeans can do. This pair is super flattering and I love the versatile medium wash. Throw on a cozy, cream, tie-sleeve sweater, add in a pair of almond toe black leather booties & nude bandana to boot and you’re good to go! Ready for that crisp fall air and a grande PSL.
