Winter Capsule: 8 Essentials

Plaid Scarf: I LOVE a good plaid, so mixing my favorite pattern with cozy fabrics is perfect to top off any dress, sweater, coat, or top makes an outfit complete. I’m wearing the first one in this post and I’m obsessed!! I got it last year and pair with any and every neutral top in my wardrobe. I’ve even mixed it with reds and greens to make it even more festive!

Patterned Tights: Consider grabbing some pairs of patterned tights this season to mix with casual outfits and holiday party looks alike! They’re such a cheap and fun way to mix your wardrobe up! Check out H&M, Target, or Forever 21 for some good options.

Sweater Dress: Take off those high waisted jeans and opt for something equally as stylish, but WAY way more comfortable. I swear, sweater dresses are a gift straight from Heaven.

Suede Booties: What’s great about booties, is that you can pair them with almost anything! Dresses, tights, jeans, trousers, and skirts. My favorite pair this season are the Sam Edelman Hilty booties, that have a medium height block heel, with the ankle coming above your natural ankle.

Turtleneck: One of the most iconic seasonal basic is the turtleneck. I love pairing a tighter turtleneck with skirts tucked in and then the more slouchy options with a pair of faded skinnies. It’s timeless, cozy, and so accessible no matter what your budget or style.

Wool Peacoat: Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a colorful peacoat. Even when I was a little girl. Each year I would treasure my new peacoat, and this year is no different. Knit Beanie: Keeping my ears warm in the Windy City is a must, but not all beanies are created equal. I’m linking some of my favorites from Nordstrom. I love a good neutral color, so it matches everything. The pom poms are just an added fun touch.

Velvet Mini Dress: If the holidays were a fabric, I think we can all agree it would be velvet. It brings a sense of occasion, plus it’s so much comfier than sequins or chiffon. I found this classic square neckline mini dress from Urban Outfitters on sale for under $40. So flattering and versatile. I can wear with strappy heels for a night out, but then with tights and a sweater for a street style moment.
